One could not ask more from Vicky Kaushal for knowing his versatility. From being the best friend and support character Kamli in Sanju to being a devoted Pakistani officer in Raazi, to keeping the Josh high in URI- The Surgical Strike, he has hit the bar of perfection with all his skills.
For more of it, we are again going to see him suited as a Marshall for paying a tribute to Sam Manekshaw, the Chief of the Army during the 1971 war shredding between India and Pakistan. The Raazi director Meghna Gulzar is going to work again with Kaushal for directing the life of Sam Manekshaw. For giving us a first flash, Vicky took to his Instagram where he is seen resembling the Marshall at fleek.
Furthermore, RSVP movies have posted an ode on Twitter to Marshall Sam Manekshaw on his death anniversary stating “Remembering the legendary Field Marshal #SamManekshaw on his death anniversary. We cannot wait to bring his incredible journey to you. @vickykaushal09 @meghnagulzar @RonnieScrewvala”. Vicky Kaushal on this reposted “In rememberence of one of India’s finest- Field Marshal #SamManekshaw. This journey is going to be very special with @meghnagulzar @RSVPMovies”.
On an interview, director Meghna Gulzar revealed that she had counted on making this movie right from the time of Raazi. However, when it came on picking the actor, Vicky Kaushal got ready to be a part of the movie at a click. Also the filmmaker clarifies that it is not just a biopic that narrates his life. She says “Ours is not a biopic, because it does not chronologically just record Sam Manekshaw’s life. We need to make an interesting narrative when telling a story by picking out the most crucial, iconic and relevant incidents of his life, giving a view of the soldier, the man, and the Field Marshal,”
Indeed the movie is going to be piled with inspiration, action and drama. The filmmaker further exclaims that the shoot will be initiated from 2021 after they are completely prepared with the ideal narratives for Indo-Pak war and Kashmir accession.
