Review:
The filmmakers start the movie at a slow pace, as they take us back to the
early days of the major Vikram Batra’s life. The other sequence shows the
love story of Vikram Batra (Siddharth Malhotra) when he met Dimple
Cheema (Kiara Advani). Kiara Advani doesn’t get the sharp screen time while
the tracks and the romantic songs distract the main subject of the film. At
the end of the first half, the journey continues to show various aspects of
his life.
On the other hand, Sidharth Malhotra played Major Vikram Batra saintly. In
the second half of the film, Sidharth shines in the war scenes and gives a
hard-hitting performance. He tried to create the aura of Vikram Batra
through his character. While Kiara Advani didn’t get much scope to show her
performance. The other casts of the film deserve to be praised for their
performances.
The overall film’s tone can be said as a well made war drama with high
patriotism, a brave heart’s story. The film deserves to be experienced on
the big screen. This film is one of the best war dramas which Bollywood has
produced in recent times. Shershaah without any doubt is a good attempt made
to remember the great victories of the unsung heroes of our Indian
army.
