Salman Khan Talks About Censorship For OTT Content:
Salman will be hosting the 68th Filmfare Awards event that is going to happen on the 27th of April. Talking in the press conference at Filmfare, Salman voices out his opinions on OTT content, Bollywood films not performing well, and also about the competition with the new generation of actors.
When asked about the impact of OTT platforms on the cinema, Salman said, “When it was just the film industry, TV wasn’t there and when the TV came, a lot of people from the film industry started getting work on Television. The people who don’t get work on television, now they started getting work on the OTT, so there is a lot of work for actors.
Pehle jo parallel cinema hua karta tha woh ab OTT hogaya he. I think the first one to start cinema in OTT is Ram Gopal Varma. Later, people started watching it. I don’t believe in that kind of content. I have been in the cinema since 1989 and I’ve never done any of these kinds of stuff. So, I just think that there should be a censor on OTT.
All this Vulgarity, Nudity etc should stop. Ab Sabke paas phone aagya he, so a 15-year-old kid could end up watching this stuff. Do you feel good if your little daughter watches such things under the pretext of studying? I just think that the content should be checked on the OTT. Now, we have people who have started making good and decent content. Clean content always works better.”
He further added, “You have done it all – love making, kissing and exposing scenes. And when you enter your building, your watchman is watching the same. So, I just don’t think that’s right for security reasons.”

When a movie is certified category-wise depending on the action scenes, why not the OTT come under censorship? It is already there on Television.
