Covid-19 Effect: Keerthy Suresh Decides to Turn Down her Remuneration

Coronavirus pandemic has changed a lot of things in everyone’s life. Amidst the chaos in the nation, Actor Keerthy Suresh has announced to lower remuneration in upcoming movies. On Tuesday, she clearly mentioned that she would take a cut pay of 20% to 30% for any film she signs in the future.

Suresh is the first actress of Tamil to show her willingness to bring down the remuneration for her work by considering the situation created due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Talking about the career front, Keerthy is waiting for the release of mystery-thriller Penguin, which was made in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. This movie will be premiered on Amazon Prime on June 19. Walking on the path of Jyotika’s Ponmagal Vandhal, Penguin is the second Kollywood movie to release in Prime due to the lockdown effect.

Keerthy Suresh felt to take upon the responsibility since winning the Best Actress National Award for the performance in Mahanati. The movie was based on the struggles and times of legendary actor Savitri.

On this note, she said- “After the release of Mahanati, it took about six or seven months for me to find the script that I wanted. I was looking for a very good women-centric film in Tamil, like how Mahanati was for me in Telugu, and that script was Penguin. It took a while for me to meet Penguin,”. This is the reason it took her two years to do another movie.
