Akshay Kumar is currently shooting for the upcoming film Ram Sethu. However,
after being tested the positive with covid the shooting was held. The film is
bankrolled by the Lyca production. A few months ago there was buzz that Karan
Johar’s Dharma Production and the Lyca production were to collaborate for the
project but due to some reason, the collaboration did not happen. Now
according to trade sources of industry, the Lyca production has defaulted Ram
Setu filmmakers Payments.
Talking with Bollywood Hungama, the trade sources revealed the details about
the payment. They stated “Lyca Productions was to put in a certain amount of
the total budget of Ram Setu, however the funding for the film never came
through. A cheque of Rs. 30 crores issued to Akshay Kumar bounced around 10
days back. Since this affects the production of the film, the makers of Ram
Setu are now on the lookout for a new production partner to replace Lyca
Productions”. Later, the actor gave his statement and denied all this
information and said, “It was wrong information”. While another report close
to the actor said that “Lyca Productions is still very much a part of Ram
Setu, and that no such monetary issue arose in the first place. Similarly,
Aashish Singh from Lyca also denied the news. He claimed that no such thing
has happened and they continue to be associated with the project.
Ram Sethu is a Hindi film helmed by Abhishek Sharma. Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline
Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha are playing the main roles. Lyca production
in association with Amazon Prime Video are producing the movie.
