Bollywood actor Adil Hussain is known for his performance in English Vinglish, Ishqiya, Agent Vinod, etc. Adil played a small important role in Kabir Singh, a remake of the blockbuster Telugu film Arjun Reddy. Sandeep Reddy Vanga who directed the film also received much criticism for the abusive behaviour of the lead character.
Recently, Adil’s statement about Kabir Singh has made the headlines and caught everyone’s attention.
Adil Hussain Regrets Doing Kabir Singh:
While talking on a podcast, Adil said “And I regret, I am saying it again. That the only film I have regretted is acting in Kabir Singh”.
The interviewer said “I was actually not sort of expecting that answer. I knew the moral reasons behind it. But I didn’t know that this was the film that you regretted.” To this, Adil responded, “Yeah, the only one! And I ended up doing it. I was in the middle of something and then they wanted one day from me. I said, no, no, I can’t.
I told my manager that, you know ask them a lot of money, they will say no too. But they agreed. So I went and did it. And I like the scene. The scene I did is a good scene. So I thought the film was also going to be good. And then I got to watch the film, and I was like, What am I doing here? You have no idea how I felt. I felt so embarrassed.
The interviewer further asked how was your family’s reaction? “No, I went with one of my friends, the owner of this house. We both walked out. I can’t even ask my wife to see it. She would be so angry if she sees what I’ve done.
Sandeep Vanga reacts to Adil Hussain’s statement:

Some have come in support of Sandeep as one said “What Sandeep receiving is PURE HATE, it’s not criticism.” While a few netizens questioned Sandeep for slamming the actor. A user wrote, “Sir, Why can’t you handle criticism…Not everybody likes everyone’s work…There are haters of Sholay and DDLJ too…So Kabir singh and Animal too can have”.

After Sandeep’s reaction, Adil again responded to ETimes by saying “I’m in the US right now and haven’t seen Sandeep’s post. Neither do I intend to. What I said (about Kabir Singh) was in an interview, and not on social media. I was completely shocked when I saw the film and I regret doing it. I will not change my stand.”
Adil Hussain was seen as the College Dean in Kabir Singh. The movie is one of the highest-grossers in Shahid Kapoor’s career. It had Kiara Advani as the female lead.

Sandeep Vanga has recently scored another Blockbuster with Animal. It had Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in leading roles. The director will next be doing Spirit with Prabhas and Animal 2 with Ranbir Kapoor.
