Mika Singh is one of the popular singers known for his peppy numbers and has been in Bollywood since many years. In a recent podcast in ‘KADAK’ YouTube channel, the singer shared his experience as a producer and working with Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover. Mika turned producer with the web series ‘Dangerous’ with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt in the year 2020 which was released on MX Player.

Mika opened up, “I wanted to cast Karan Singh Grover and a newcomer girl so that the project remains under budget, and we make something nice, but Bipasha jumped into it and was like ‘We can both be part of this series’. They didn’t exceed the budget, but the experience was horrible.
Karan and Bipasha were a married couple, so I booked a single room for them. But, they were like, ‘No, we need our separate rooms’. I didn’t understand the logic. They then demanded to be moved to a different hotel. We did that as well.”
He added, “Later, when we were shooting a stunt scene, Karan Singh fractured his leg. They even created issues while dubbing the film. They were giving excuses that they have sore throats and other things. I couldn’t understand the drama, especially when they were paid for their work”.
Bollywood Singer Mika further revealed that the couple refused to do a kissing scene despite signing a contract which clearly mentioned that there was a kissing scene in the script. “They are husband and wife, and yet they created drama around kissing each other on screen. These stars fall on the feet of big producers like Dharma productions and Yash Raj films and keep praising them for even the tiniest roles, but their attitude changes when it comes to smaller producers. Aren’t we also spending money?”
Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan advised Mika Singh not to venture into production. In the Interview, he revealed that Salman said “It is okay if you want to produce a film, but atleast star in it. You are more famous than the people you have cast in your film. But, I didn’t listen to him. I just wanted to remain a producer and give good music to the film. I spent so much money and the series didn’t work. Now, I regret not starring in my own project. At least, I would have made the songs work if nothing else”.

Recalling the advice given by Akshay Kumar, Mika said “Akshay has warned me about producing the film. He said “I heard you are making a film. Have you gone crazy? You have achieved so much in life, why do you want to go knocking at the vans of actors reminding them their shot is ready? Please don’t invest your money. You will lose it all”.
He stated that this experience as producer forced him to give up on production altogether. “I have now decided to never produce a film and I advise the same to others. And if at all they consider making films, please give an opportunity to newcomers.”
Talking about his recent work, Mika sung ‘Dhokha’ song in Sarfira and ‘Suttebaaz Haseena’ in Wild Wild Punjab.
Bipasha was last seen in the series ‘Dangerous’ in 2020, but her last appearance in a Bollywood film was in 2018 in Welcome to New York. While ‘Karan Singh Grover’ worked in ‘Fighter’.
