Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to receieve the highest award of the Indian
film industry, the Dada Saheb Phalke award for the year 2019. This news
announced by the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javedkar
through his Twitter handle. According to the schedule, the award winner has to
be announced last year. However, due to the pandemic, it has been postponed.
The jury who selected Rajnikanth for the award includes Asha Bhosle, Shankar
Mahadevan and Subhash Ghai and Mohanlal.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his Instagram handle to wish Rajnikanth
for this great achievement. PM Modi by sharing a throwback picture, admired
the work of actor and congratulated him. He wrote, “Popular across
generations, a body of work few can boast of, diverse roles and an endearing
personality…that’s Shri @rajinikanth Ji for you. It is a matter of immense
joy that Thalaiva has been conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
Congratulations to him”. There is no doubt that PM Narendra Modi’s wishes for
the thalaivar make a special place in Rajnikanth’s heart.
